almost perfect

i too hate cables, so i just had to get this. i’m not sure how much the above reviewer had to pay for this, but i bought it for under 4 bucks including shipping and handling. for the convenience, i would have paid higher. the only problem i have with this is that it gets lost too often.

Behold Shiva, killer of laptops
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I had high hopes for this nifty gadget. I bought 3 of them, because they are so cheap, and cheap stuff sometimes has a bad batch or so.

All three of them, if I plug the adapter into a USB port and have a shuffle attached, shut down the laptop immediately. Happens on my mac mini, happens on my laptop. The evil happens as soon as the adapter is connected to the usb port and the shuffle is connected to the adapter.

If there is a way to use this thing, I haven’t been able to figure it out, and there isn’t a lot to it.

Good 2nd Gen Shuffle Charger
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this product because I hate cables. I keep it plugged into a USB port on my laptop and it works very well. I can charge my shuffle and transfer music to it with this cool little device. It is, however, a bit over priced but I bundled it with something else and got free super saver shipping.

It SPARKS!!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
When plugging your iPod into this adapter, it shorts out & sparks arc out of, and across, the 2 contact points EVERY time I’ve plugged either mine or my brothers iPods into this device.. No you guys, like ~seriously~, some pretty good sized SPARKS actually SHOOT OUT OF the metal contact point on this adapter and arc across to the metal casing of my iPod shuffle 2g! lol..no joke. And i’ve used it on ~3~ different computers to see if maybe it was just some sort of power related problem with my laptop, I thought maybe it had too much power for that little thing or something..but that wasn’t it.. sadly, it did the same thing on my laptop, home pc, and work pc, which tells me it’s the -adapter-. So this adapter is pretty much useless to me..unless I wanna get the crap shocked out of me..lol. Thank god I only paid a little over [...] bucks for this thing or I would be upset lol. But hey, I’ll admit..they did have some pretty quick shipping!! :)

Perfect little charger
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I wasn’t about to buy an overpriced official charger because I don’t need the bulk. Sometimes this device can be a little slow syncing with iTunes, but I’ve never used another iPod, so I can’t compare speeds. Charging can take a long time, but that is to be expected with USB charging.

Disappointed

I ordered 2 chargers and neither one of them works. When one responded, I received an error message about a power surge.

Awesome Item & Price!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is better than what i was looking for! Shipment was fast, item works perfectly. The funny thing is that when it arrived in the mail, I could not find my shuffle, since i had not used it in a very long time, because i had lost the sync cable.. it took me a while to find it… but once found it I could not find this item…lol but i finally did.. good thing it has a hole so i can put something around it… or it’s so small that i just might always leave it plugged in to one of my USB drives.

Loose but works

It worked for me but USB connector was loose and had to adjust few times before it started working. Very annoying

tears free!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Design of this product is better than the original. There are no cables and it is not awkwardly shaped. If you’ve ever stepped on the original one, you know that the pain can reduce a grown man to tears. After like 4 steps over many many months, I finally have the dock and the prong in two pieces. Good riddens I say!

Ipod’s official incompetently designed one costs $29 to replace. Instead, I paid less than 4 dollars including shipping for this one. Its shipping is fast by the way, and I don’t live in the continental United States. Product feels sturdy and works like a charm. Don’t know if I’m imagining things, but it seems to be faster than the official one. Got nothing but love for this
