Doesn’t fit 30gb iPod video

I bought this at a brick & mortar store for about $25. The packaging specified that it would fit 30gb and 80 gb iPod video models. When you open the package, there are indeed two back pieces for the case, one deeper than the other. There are no instructions but it was honestly obvious that the deeper was for the 80gb & that the cover simply snaps into place.

The problem is that the 30gb iPod I have doesn’t fit the smaller case. The cover literally won’t even touch the back, much less snap to it. The only option was to use the 80gb case, which closes but leaves the iPod clanking around loose inside due to the extra space (and the openings for the headphones, dock, etc., don’t line up as well as they should).

This case is very attractive, but it is sad that a major manufacturer can’t even properly measure the product they claim compatibility with.

Ok, but not what I wanted

The moment my ipod slipped out of my hand the case popped off. It protects your ipod as long as you don’t drop it but the case back smudges and scratches pretty easily. It looks kind of cheap, especially around the touch cirlce where there are small white gradiant dots- not cute. I’d recommend looking for something else to protect your ipod, I just got this 2 weeks ago and I’m looking for a new case already.

That’s the best word for this case. I have the 80 gig classic and it is a perfect fit. The best part of this case is the protection that it gives the screen and the click wheel. I’ve had my ipod in this case exclusively since I bought it and my player looks groundbreaking new to this day (had it about a year now–use it DAILY)

I did I lot of research before I bought a case for my new ipod classic (80GB), and this got the best reviews overall. It’s inexpensive, slim, styled to fit the 80GB, and COVERS THE SCREEN. It also covers the wheel with plastic, but it does not affect the controls at all. The case was simple to snap together and is very sturdy, not to mention attractive. I’m extremely pleased with it!

Fantastic! While it lasts…

I did a lot of research before purchasing this case nearly 3 months ago. It is very stylish and practical. It’s incredibly simple to get your iPod in or out, and the case stays closed (unless you drop it). The click wheel cover is certainly the best I found for the 6g iPod, no loss of sensitivity at all, and all the ports are easily accessible (though they aren’t particularly protected).

But, after 3 months of excellent use, this case appears to be nearing the end of its life. The metal faceplate is coming unstuck from the plastic of the case, the screen protector is quite scratched up, and the click wheel cover has a small tear in it. This is unfortunate, I like this case so much!

It really does a fantastic job protecting the iPod though, with only one precaution: If you care about scratches on the back of the iPod, be careful not to let any dirt or dust get in to the case when you are closing it. The case itself will not scratch the iPod, but dirt trapped between the case and iPod will.

This is a fantastic case and has kept my iPod looking and working fantastic through quite a bit of abuse, but it certainly appears to have a breaking point.

This is one cool looking cover. It is the best protection that you can find. It protects the back, front, screen and wheel. The wheel is soft plastic and nicely sensitive to touch. The piece really clicks together so it’s very well protected. I loved mine so much I bought one for my sister.

This is a must if you are an avid ipod user! This keeps my screen from gettinng scratched and gives it a stylish look!
